For Myanmar entrepreneurs who are interested in expanding their businesses into Japan, OMPEA’s partner organization, Suriya organized a webinar titled “Japan Business Kickoff – A Strategic Roadmap for Myanmar Entrepreneurs and SMEs Expanding to Japan.” The webinar was held on February 28, 2026, at 5:30 PM (Japan Standard Time).
Japan is widely recognized as a stable and well-structured economy that offers many opportunities for Asian entrepreneurs. However, entering the Japanese market requires a clear and well-planned strategic roadmap. This webinar was specially organized to help address that need and provide practical guidance for businesses considering expansion into Japan.
During the session, Aung Myin Thu Kyaw (CEO) and Min Khant Lin (COO) shared their perspectives and experiences based on their own journey of establishing and operating businesses in Japan. They provided insights into the latest developments in the Japanese market and explained different business setup options, including 100% ownership, joint ventures (JV), representative offices, and subsidiary companies.
The speakers also discussed important regulatory requirements for operating a business in Japan. This included explanations of the legal framework, taxation system, and immigration procedures, such as business manager visas and investor visas, which are essential for entrepreneurs planning to establish companies in Japan.
In addition, the webinar introduced participants to key aspects of Japanese business culture, including relationship-building and negotiation practices. Real-life case studies from the food and beverage (F&B) and real estate sectors were shared, providing practical insights that participants could apply in their own business strategies.
The Q&A session allowed participants to directly ask questions, which were answered by the speakers during the webinar. This interactive discussion made the event an engaging and valuable knowledge-sharing session.
Overall, the Japan Business Kickoff Webinar provided participants with a comprehensive overview—from the fundamentals of entering the Japanese market to practical insights from real business experiences—all within a one-hour program.
