On January 12, 2026, the Overseas Myanmar Professionals and Entrepreneurs Association (OMPEA) successfully organized a special seminar for Myanmar professionals and business owners residing overseas. The event took place at the Yotsuya Community Center (四谷地域センター), located in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo (87 Naitōmachi, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo).
The seminar was attended by members of the Myanmar community in Japan who are actively engaged in business activities. Discussions focused primarily on the current business environment as well as future prospects and opportunities.
Among the speakers, Mr. Yoshimichi Ishikawa emphasized the critical importance of maintaining healthy cash flow in business, the need to build trust-based relationships with banks, and the responsibility of contributing positively to the local communities in which one lives and works. He highlighted that proper social and economic integration is essential for long-term success, and noted that while one cannot change the circumstances of the past, each individual has the power to shape their own future.
In addition, Mr. Taiyo Miura contributed to the discussion with practical insights, stressing that there is no fixed formula for dealing with people. He underscored that honest and genuine human relationships are among the most fundamental factors for achieving success in business. At the seminar, Mr. Kyi Thu Shein, President of OMPEA, served as the moderator. After the seminar, at 2:00 p.m., participants gathered at Golden Bagan Myanmar Asia Restaurant for a lunch, where they built friendships and engaged in networking to establish ongoing connections and maintain continued communication.
This seminar served as a valuable platform not only for sharing experiences among Myanmar professionals and entrepreneurs in Japan, but also for gaining practical advice, encouragement, and inspiration.
OMPEA plans to continue organizing follow-up programs and warmly invites ongoing participation and collaboration from the wider Myanmar community.
